The Bullet Mat Club is composed of a number of concerned people within the Brandywine Heights School District who share the goals of furthering Brandywine’s wrestling program from the elementary grades through the high school. Their efforts are to assist financially, spiritually, and academically any athlete involved in wrestling at Brandywine.

Money is raised to accomplish these goals through the elementary wrestling tournament held in December sponsored by the Bullet Mat Club. This is done with the combined cooperation of the administration and the athletic department at Brandywine. The tournament requires a great deal of help. You will not be asked to sell anything over the phone or door to door. The tournament is a very successful fundraiser and to date we have raised over $40,000 to assist the wrestling program.

Every graduating senior planning on continuing their education is given a $250.00 scholarship. Thus far over $10,000 has been awarded. We have also sponsored wrestlers going to post season tournaments and have purchased numerous awards and equipment when needed. In 2004 throught the efforts of State Senator Mike O’Pake, the Bullet Mat Club secured a grant of $5,000 to refurbish the Middle School Wrestling Room.

We believe that wrestling builds character and self-esteem, and is truly one of the best sports to help young people mold their lives!
